What You Can Do To Become Involved In The Rainsnow Project
There are many ways in which you can become involved in the RS Project. Some of them are:
Send an e-mail: contact@rainsnow.org Provide a brief background of yourself, and explain why this project interests you; and what you believe you could bring to it. - Remember: WE ARE IN THE VERY FIRST STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT, seeking to build up a network of potential personnel so that we can begin to give form and substance to this dream. After you write, please be patient. Response time may vary.
Read the Rainsnow books. Although both The Journey of Rainsnow and The Message of Rainsnow will be helpful, if you are struggling with money (something I can understand), buy The Message of Rainsnow. This book is more directly linked to the theory and development of the Rainsnow Project. (The Journey deals more with my spiritual journey, and the spiritual origins of the project, although it also contains some very important information about human life and culture.) If you are really strapped for money, buy the book with a friend, and share it.
Tell others about these books, this website, and this project. Use the power of "word of mouth", in person-to-person contacts, and over the Internet.
Form a STUDY GROUP with friends. Read The Message of Rainsnow, and discuss its basic ideas, arguments, and points. If you and your friends have New Age/spiritual interests, you might also read and discuss The Journey of Rainsnow. Once a study group is in place, consider choosing other books to read and discuss, as well. Deepen your knowledge. Challenge and stimulate yourselves. In select cases, if the study group is able to develop strong interpersonal bonds, expand its scope. Use it as a place for receiving and providing emotional support, for developing deeper levels of friendship, and growing as human beings. Share additional activities. You will be on you way to constructing a "small circle", one of the basic building blocks of our new Tribe!
Begin work on developing the skills, abilities, knowledge, insight, and discipline that will prepare you to be a more useful member of our transformative project in the future. Some things which you could do would be to:
Spend more time reading, self-educating, building useful forms of knowledge about society, history, psychology, culture, anthropology, politics, economics, nature, and the environment.
Work to develop a deeper "spiritual practice", or philosophical code. Seek to strengthen your connection to the Divine Force/Universe which has created us all: to increase your awareness of self, others, and life; your compassion; and the courage and discipline which will enable you to remain true to what you have found. Struggle to remain open-minded, yet to develop principles; to be humble, yet utterly respectful of yourself; to love and cherish yourself, but not to place yourself above others. Be sure to reflect frequently upon your daily life and your emotions, since when we lose sight of what is going on inside of us, we lose our ability to guide ourselves, and often become mere shadows of the actions and thoughts of others. Whatever your religion or path, seek its living, most human essence, connect with it in a personal way, and accept it as your way of finding the truth, without demanding that it be everyone’s way.
Find ways of developing new talents and building upon existing ones:
Are you a student of the martial arts? Keep it up! This is a great way for developing discipline, mind-body balance, focus, and depending on the teacher and approach, some tools for spiritual growth. Yoga, tai chi, and dance are also recommended.
Creative artists - writers, musicians, painters and other visual artists, artists of all types. Keep creating! We need your vision, your life! Bring us the social, the real; the utterly imaginary; the non-political eternal, which enshrines the life force - whatever contains your soul, and moves ours! In the future, our Tribe intends to use art as a key component in its campaign to awaken and stimulate a cultural transformation of our society and civilization. If you are interested in participating in this future drive, send an e-mail about your work and aims, with the heading, "Creators": contact@rainsnow.org After you write, please be patient. Response time may vary.
Are you a Professional, or training to become one? A computer wiz; a doctor; a lawyer; a psychotherapist; a healer; a counselor; a nurse; a carpenter; a builder; an electrician; a farmer; a craftsman; a teacher; a scholar; a researcher; a fundraiser, etc.? We will have need of you in the future. Keep training or working to be the very best you can be in your field, and contact us via e-mail (under the heading "Professional") if you feel you would like to become involved in this project. contact@rainsnow.org
CHECK BACK FREQUENTLY WITH THIS WEBSITE. Keep an open eye for updates, which may reveal new opportunities to become involved. Look, especially, at the Rainsnow Project Update: News page, as well as the Special Bulletins page.
At the moment, this project is rich in ideas and hope, but poor in material resources: if you would like to SUPPORT THE RAINSNOW PROJECT with a financial contribution, a donation of land, space, or time, or to support it economically by buying the Rainsnow books, by utilizing services provided by this web site, or by doing what you would do anyway, here, instead of somewhere else (like ordering from Amazon.com), please click on Supporting the Rainsnow Project.
Let this be the beginning of a new phase in our lives, and a new period of hope for our planet!
